Lime users in London and Milton Keynes will now be able to rent the firm’s e-scooters through ride-sharing giant Uber’s app.
Lime’s rental e-bikes in the UK capital were previously run by Uber-owned mobility firm Jump, and are already available to rent through the Uber app alongside car rides and food deliveries. The new deal extends the agreement between the firms to Lime’s fleet of scooters, which are being operated under a UK government-backed rental scheme.

The e-scooter integration has gone live on the Uber app today to mark World Earth Day and, as with Lime’s own app, riders will need to provide proof of identification and complete a one-off safety test to unlock the machines.
To rent a Lime e-scooter, Uber app users need to visit the ‘two wheels’ option on the home page. Vehicles cost £1 to unlock, and between 15-19p per minute to ride. Users can get a £5 discount on their first ride by using the code LONDONLIMESCOOTERS2022.
Are e-scooters legal in the UK? Move Electric explains all
Lime’s business development chief Alex Krasnoff said: “Working closely with our partners at Uber we have been able to integrate and make our services available to even more riders, which will help encourage active and sustainable journeys and reduce congestion.”
We’re also very excited to launch our Gen 4 e-bikes in London in the coming months. Like our current red e-bikes, they will be available for hire via the Uber app and Londonders will be some of the first riders outside of the US that will get the chance to try out our new and improved Lime-green ride.”
Lime recently won the Breakthrough Award in the Move Electric Awards 2022 in partnership with OVO Energy, for its efforts to improve the range of services for rental e-scooter and e-bike users in the UK.
