Italian start-up Moto Parilla has released a preview sketch of the Tricolore, the firm's first electric mountain bike which it claims is a true hybrid of a motorcycle and bike.
The Reggio Emilia company has spent two years developing the boldly styled enduro e-MTB, which will be revealed in full at the Milan motorcycle show in November.

Moto Parilla said it has chosen to reveal the e-MTB at the show to highlight the numerous motorbike-style features that are included on the Tricolore. They include a monocoque frame, a bilateral single-arm swingarm, and interchangeable seat frame and some of the key design geometrics used in motorcycle design.
The Tricolore is designed to be a modular vehicle that can be offered with differing bike geometrics to adjust it for use both on- and off-road. It can also house powertrains offering up to 750 watts for markets that allow such powerful e-bikes.
The electric motor is provided by Polini, which will supply its EP3 250 Watt model. It features an 880 Watt-hour battery that gives a range of more than 65 miles. The braking system, suspension and other components will vary depending on the exact model.
The machine makes extensive use of lightweight materials including carbonfibre, hemp fibre and aerospace-grade aluminium. Moto Parilla says that the bike will be manufactured entirely in Italy, with the key components all produced within a 30-mile radius of the firm's headquarters.
Moto Parilla already offered a range of electric bikes, including the Carbon and Trilix.
