Have your say on the UK's electric car charging network

12 Oct 2022

Do you have thoughts on the state of the UK’s electric vehicle charging network? Silly question: if you drive an electric car regularly, then of course you have views.

Well, if you want to share those views – and, again, we strongly suspect you do, then our possibly brave colleagues at sister brand What Car? want to hear from you.

The UK’s public charging network is growing quickly: there are now more than 57,500 chargers at around 20,900 locations. But while that’s a dramatic increase from a few years ago, there are fears that number is not keeping up with the ever-more dramatic rise in sales of EVs.

Meanwhile, the speed and cost of public charge points also varies widely, and a host of different providers all offer different ways of paying: just ask anyone who regularly charges their EV on the road to show you their collection of apps…

The goal of the first What Car? Electric Car Charging Survey is to gauge the state of the UK charging network, and to find out the best and worst public charging networks.

UK charging network: complete guide to every provider

And even if you only ever plug in your car at home, What Car? still wants to hear about your home charging experiences. How long did it take to get a charger installed, is it reliable and how easy to use it?

The survey will allow What Car? To rate the best public charging companies and home charger installation firms – helping you and future EV drivers make the best decisions.
