New Skoda Enyaq iV vRS SUV to start from £52,670 in the UK

7 Dec 2022

Looking for an electric SUV that offers performance and practicality? Then say hello to the new Skoda Enyaq iV vRS, a performance version of the brand's Enyaq SUV, which will arrive in UK showrooms next year with a starting price of £52,670.

The Skoda Enyaq iV vRS combines a 220kW all-wheel-drive powertrain with a hugely spacious 585-litre boot.

As the vRS performance badge suggests, the powertrain of the new machine is essentially identical to the one features in the previously launched Enyaq Coupe iv vRS –and which is also shared with the closely related Volkswagen ID 4 GTX, which is also built on the VW Group’s MEB electric platform.

The powertrain features an electric motor mounted on each axle offering all-wheel-drive, with a combined power output of 220kW and a mighty 338lb ft of torque. For that record, that is 25kW more than the previously range-topping Enyaq SUV.

The powertrain means the Enyaq iV vRS can sprint from 0-62mph in 6.5secs, and it has a limited top speed of 111mph. It retains the familiar 82kWh battery and has an official range of 310 miles – which is actually one mile more than the Coupe version, if you’re interested. As with that model, the battery can be charged at speeds of up to 135kW, allowing for a 10 to 80 per cent charge in 36 minutes. As with the ID 4 GTX, five driving modes – Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport and Traction – are offered.

As with other vRS models, Skoda has given the performance version of the Enyaq SUV a style makeover. There’s a gloss back grille built, window frames, mirror covers and rear diffuser, and body-coloured side skirts. It also includes Skoda’s ‘Crystal Face’ front, with 131 LEDs illuminating the ‘ribs’ of the grille.

Meanwhile, the machine sits 15mm lower than the standard Enyaq SUV at the front axle due to new sports suspension. There are also special 20in wheels, with 21in versions available as an option. And if you really like to stand out, you can order your Enyaq iv vRS in Hyper Green paint. A panoramic sunroof is a slightly less showy option.

Inside, there’s carbon-look trim on the dashboard and door panels, three-zone climate control, LED ambient lighting and a choice of two ‘Design Selections’: Lound and vRS Suit. Opt for the latter and you get leather seating and a leather-look dashboard.

The Enyaq iV vRS is set to reach UK showrooms in 2023 with prices starting from£52,670. That's slightly more than the Coupe variant which costs from £51,885.
