We don't entirely get Black Friday. It's really an American event, and takes place the day after Thanksgiving when most people are off work and looking for some bargains while sweating off their massive turkey dinner.
Even thought we don't do Thanksgiving here in Britain, online retailers such as Amazon have helped turn Black Friday into a major shopping event. And just to add to the confusion, some of the sales now last far longer than a single day.

But while Black Friday confuses us, we do like bargains. So here's our guide to the best Black Friday bargains you'll find in the UK (all details correct at time of writing).
Before you buy an e-scooter, remember that it remains illegal to use a private e-scooter on public roads and pavements in the UK. Check out our full explainer to make sure you understand the rules.

Cowboy
Belgian e-bike firm Cowboy is offering its C3 model priced from £1090, offering up to £900 off the regular retail price.
The urban-focused C3 features a single-speed rear hub motor, with a removable battery that offers up to 44 miles of electric assistance. The machine also features integrated lighting in the lightweight frame.
The key features are operated via a smartphone app, including a crash detection function that uses sensors to detect incidents and can automatically alert your emergency contacts. There is also a theft detection system that uses real-time tracking.
Gin e-bikes
Electric bike firm Gin is offering a special package for its entry-level Gin X e-bike. The machine normally retails for £1090, but from November 24 until November 27 it will be priced at £999, and include an anti-theft alarm, mobile phone holder, padded saddle and water bottle holder. Gin claims the package offers a total saving of £290.
The Gin X is intended as a premium fat tyre e-bike suitable for both commuting and off-road use. It is powered by a 250W Bafang brushless motor while a 615Wh battery gives a range of more than 75 miles. It also features a Shimano Altus derailleur and hydraulic brakes.
Mycle
British firm Mycle is offering £300 off its Cadence, Comfort and Climber e-bikes, with deals that run until November 29. The discounts will apply on both Mycle's website and for bikes bought on Amazon.
The Cadence and Comfort are the firm's first hybrid e-bikes, and are now both priced from £1299. The Comfort is a step-through design that features a 10.4Ah battery and a 250W motor. It also offers Shimano gears, integrated front and rear lights, integrated rear rack designed to make it easy to fit panniers and an optional front basket.
The Cadence hybrid bike uses a 7.8Ah battery, and also offers a Selle Royal saddle, 35mm Kenda tyres, 27.5in wheels, Shimano gears and integrated lights. Front and rear luggage racks are optional.

The off-road Climber bike is offered with two battery sizes, and is now priced at £899 for the entry-level option offering 28 miles of range or £999 for the version with a 12.8Ah battery and 43 miles of range.
It sits on 26in tyres and offers a 250W motor with five power-assist levels. There is also a lightweight aluminium frame, a vegan-friendly saddle and a built-in LCD display and USB outlet.
Pure Electric
Pure Electric is arguably Britain's leading e-scooter manufacturer, and the Bristol-based firm is offering deals on a number of models in its Pure Air range from now until November 30.
The Pure Air Pro Long Range is one of our favourite e-scooters, with a range of 37 miles and 700W of peak power output. It also features 10inch tyres, a maple and birch deck and a choice of four colours. It usually costs £749, but is currently being offered at £629, a saving of £120.
Pure Air Pro LR: Move Electric's definitive review
The standard Pure Air Pro has many of the same features as the Pro LR, with a smaller battery that offers a range of 31 miles. It still offers 700W of output, and has the same 15.5mph limited top speed – so it's definitely worth considering if you don't need the range. It's usually priced at £599, but for Black Friday Pure Electric has dropped that to £499.

The Pure Air Go is Pure Electric's entry-level e-scooter, with a 350W motor, a 15.5mph top speed and a range of 12.4 miles. It still features 10in puncture-resistant tyres, and weighs 16kg. Pure Electric has cut £50 from the price for Black Friday, dropping it from £349 to £299.
Before you buy an e-scooter, it's important to understand the laws about using them in the UK. At present, you are not allowed to use a private e-scooter on public roads. You can use them on private land, if you have the permission of the landowner.
The government is working on plans to fully legalise e-scooters, which could be introduced in 2023.
Zinc Sports
Personal mobility firm Zinc has also launched a range of offers, which run from now until November 28.
It has three e-scooters in the Black Friday sale, headlined by the Zinc Velocity Plus 500W folding e-scooter. Fitted with 10in wheels and offering a top speed of 15.5mph, the model is currently on sale for £599, a £100 discount on the regular retail price.

The firm is also offering a £20 discount on the entry-level Zinc E4, which is now priced at £99.99, and a £50 discount on the Zinc Eco Plus. That model offers 8.7 miles of range and a 250W motor, and is now available for £249.99, down from £299.99.
Zinci is also offering a 50 per cent discount on the Zinc Megastar Hoverboard, which is now priced at £144.99, compared to a regular price of £299.99. It has a 120W motor and a top speed of six mph, and also offers a five-mile range.

Aas with e-scooters it is currently illegal to use hoverboard-style vehicles on public roads. They can only be used on private land, with the land owner's permission.
