Premium electric car brand Genesis has unveiled the bold X Convertible, a super-sleek drop-top EV that rounds out a trilogy of luxury concept cars.
The Korean firm started its concept trilogy with the two-door X Concept grand tourer which showcased its new design language. That was followed by the X Speedium Coupe revealed earlier this year, which built on the themes of the original concept.

The new four-door drop-top is the third X model to arrive, creating what you could call a XXX trilogy. Actually... best not call it that. Let's instead quickly move on and focus on the X Convertible, because it really is a lovely looking thing.
Intended to serve as a ‘beacon of the Genesis brand’, the concept features an elongated design with a long bonnet and extended wheelbase, and sculpted bodywork that features the firm’s ‘Two-Line’ graphic.
As with the X Speedium Coupe, the X Convertible features an ‘abstract’ front Crest Grille panel featuring bold lighting. The cooling inlets for the powertrain and batteries have been pushed down low in the front bumper.
There are beefed-up wheel arches, which Genesis says is intended to form a ‘Coke bottle’ design when viewed from above. At the rear, Genesis says the car features a ‘concave elliptical duck tail’, that has horizontal quad rear lights built into it.
The dashboard encloses the driver in the style of a single-seater racing car. The interior is apparently inspired by traditional Korean roof architecture, and features plentiful use of nave and orange trim in a bid to give it a modern feel. There are pad graphic wraps working into the cockpit made from a recycled wool fabric.
Meanwhile, the big design feature is the massive folding hard-top roof, which tucks neatly away in the rear of the car when you want to enjoy the sunshine. Even when the roof is up, it has a transparent ‘moon roof’ built into it to ensure that maximum light is allowed in.
The model shares its electric powertrain with the X Concept and X Speedium Coupe, which means a maximum power output of 359kW (482bhp) and a claimed range of around 310 miles.
