Belgian firm Cowboy, which focuses on advanced urban electric bikes, has relaunched its Circular line of refurbished second-hand machines.
The Circular line initiative features the firm selling ‘second-life’ used e-bikes that have been repaired and refurbished by its in-house mechanics. Cowboy has made a limited backed of 700 Circular bikes, with all machines covered by a two-year warranty.

Adrien Roose, Cowboy’s co-founder and boss, said: “By giving our bikes a ‘second spin’ we continue to push our sustainability efforts forward by extending the life of each bike, while making our unique connected ride accessible to even more people.”
The initiative to offer the refurbished e-bikes is part ofd a series of efforts by Cowboy to improve its social and environmental performance – which has resulted in the firm securing B Corp status.
That is an independent certification from the non-profit B Lab, which measures a company’s social and environmental performance. It reviews the impact of the operations and business model of a firm on works, customers, communities and the environment.
Cowboy says that riders of its e-bikes now complete more than one million riders per month, and so far this year have travelled a combined 19.8 million miles.
The firm says that its models are also designed with a focus on the recyclability of components, with a particular focus on aluminium. Components on the bikes are designed so they can be easily disassembled, and the firm works with partners to recycle both battery and bike parts.
