American electric bike brand FUELL has expanded its line-up of two-wheeled machines with the Flluid-2 and Flluid-3, which the firm claims to be the longest range e-bikes on sale.
FUELL is spearheaded by established motorcycle engineer Erik Buell, who founded the Buell Motorcycle Company in 1989 and built a number of racing motorbikes in the US.
The new Flluid-2 is described as “an ultra-long range e-bike”, that is can travel up to 225 miles between charges, while the step-through-styled Flluid-3 can do up to 110 miles.
FUELL’s Flluid-2 machine features two 2000W removable batteries, while the Flluid-3 gets a single 1000W battery.
The Flluid-2 and Flluid-3 have a max speed of 20mph, while faster variants – the Flluid-2S and Flluid-3S – will have a top speed of 28mph.
Powered by Valeo’s new 750W mid-drive motor, both machines get an integrated automatic gearbox, which can be overridden by shifting manually. The new e-bikes also get Tektro hydraulic brakes and a Gates Carbon belt drive.
Both bikes use aluminium frames, with the e-bikes geometry designed to offer “stable, confident and nimble handling”.
“The creation of the FUELL Flluid-2 & 3 e-bikes was a complex and demanding journey that took many years of research and development,” said co-founder Buell.
“We faced a lot of challenges on our way such as creating e-bikes that comfortably fit customers from 5’ tall all the way to 6’4” tall, packing 2,000 W of battery into the frame without getting it too massive, providing a “just right” balance of agility and confident handling to the riding experience.”
“I am proud to announce that we have successfully overcome all these challenges, developing e-bikes that meet the needs of today's urban commuters.”
FUELL says the first 50 units of Flluid-2 and Flluid-3 will be sold at a price of $3999 (£3216) and $3699 (£2974), respectively.
