Order books for the new Peugeot e-2008 will open this summer, with the electric SUV gaining a refreshed exterior look, enhanced technology and a longer range.
The French brand’s popular EV has been updated to bring it in line with its other electric models, which includes the e-208 and e-308.
Peugeot says its new e-2008 has been given a “more assertive SUV design”, with a wider front end incorporating the firm’s new ‘Peugeot Shield’.
It also gets the same light signature as the 508 and 508 SW, which is formed of three vertical light claws integrated into the bumper.
At the rear, the e-2008’s three claw light feature has been redesigned, with the LED rear light made up of three superimposed horizontal slats.
The e-2008 also gets a number of “E” motifs, finished in blue and white to signify its zero-emission credentials. Wheel size ranges from 16-18in, with six body colours also on offer.
Underpinning the e-2008 is a new 54kWh battery which offers a range of up to 252 miles, up from 214 miles. A new electric motor has also increased the power output by 18 per cent, with 116kW.
The new e-2008 can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 30 minutes, using a 100kW rapid charger and over seven hours using a 7.4kW home charger.
Inside the e-2008 gets an updated version of the firm’s i-Cockpit, with a new 10in digital instrument cluster, which features a 3D display on GT versions.
As standard, the e-2008 also features a 10in central touchscreen display with physical buttons underneath for quick access.
The e-2008 comes with a range of driver assistance features, such as adaptive cruise Control, automatic emergency braking, extended traffic sign recognition and lane keeping assist.
Peugeot’s updated electric SUV will be available to order this summer, with deliveries expected towards the end of 2023.
Pricing for the new e-2008 has not been revealed, but we expect it to start from around £25,000, with the range-topping GT model likely costing around £30,000.
