Electric vehicle charging network Osprey installed as many rapid chargers in the first 10 weeks of this year as it did in the whole of 2022.

Founded in 2016 as Engenie, the firm installed and set live 142 rapid charge points in locations across the UK from January to March, matching the number that it installed in the whole of last year.

The rapid expansion means the firm now has 536 rapid chargers – and it says another 50 have been installed and will be made live in April. Osprey’s target is to reach 1000 rapid chargers by the end of 2023, which means installing around four times as many chargers as it did last year.

Osprey boss Ian Johnston said the company was “working tirelessly to bring new chargers live at this unprecedented rate.”

He added: “Now that we have established a broad network our focus is to continue to expand but also provide a high quality of experience for EV drivers all over the country. Over the next two years we will invest over £100million expanding our nationwide public charging network, establishing the much-needed national infrastructure that drivers can trust and rely on.”
