New Mercedes EQB gets new look and infotainment for 2024

Order books for the new Mercedes EQB will open this autumn, with the electric crossover featuring a new exterior design, a host of new technologies and a towbar.

Primed for deliveries early in 2024, the new EQB has been given a new front grille which features the brand’s signature star pattern, while a front light bar joins the LED headlights and daytime running lights.

The rear tail lights have also been revised, instead using a horizontal arrangement as opposed to a more rounded design. 

Inside the EQB gets a backlit star pattern on the dashboard and the doors. It also gains the brand’s new touch-capacitive three-spoke steering wheel as first seen on the S-Class saloon. 

The 10.0in infotainment screen and digital drivers display have both been updated to feature better graphics, with the former now running the brand’s latest MBUX system. 

A Burmester sound system with Dolby Atmos is available as an option, which allows the driver to choose from a selection of sound profiles which adjust the tone of and acoustics of songs. 

Buyers now have the option of a towbar that is rated for a maximum payload of 1400kg for front-wheel-drive models and up to 1700kg for all-wheel-drive models. It is worth noting that this option is only available if you go without a third row of seats. 

Low-rolling-resistance tyres and a sleek exterior design has enabled Mercedes to increase the range of the EQB, but it is yet to divulge the claimed figure. 

We expect it to travel up to 330 miles on a single charge. 

Mercedes is yet to reveal any information on price, but we are expecting the new EQB to command a price tag of around £55,000.
