Christmas gift guide for electric bike fans

4 Dec 2022

It’s that time of the year when relatives ask what you would like for Christmas, and if you’re anything like us, being put on the spot makes our minds go blank and we ultimately end up with a new pair of socks. Which, of course, is absolutely fine, but if you’re an electric bike fan and want some more ideas, have a read of our list below.

Also, don't miss our guide to the best e-bikes you can get for Christmas 2022.

Halfords Advanced E-bike Helmet - £50

Using a thicker core layer than non e-bike helmets, this lid from Halfords meets the EU safety standard for speed pedalecs, which means you’ll have more protection in the event of a higher speed crash. It’s only available in one size, so if you don’t fit the mould, consider our other helmet option below.

Kask Sintesi Helmet - £90

Not technically an ‘e-bike’ helmet, but it’s so versatile it would be remiss of us to miss it off the list. It’s designed to be used on various types of bikes including urban, gravel and road, so you don’t need to be a fashion victim and buy multiple ones! It comes in 11 different colourways and two sizes so it fits most heads.

Cat Eye Bike Light Set - £28.99

Lots of urban e-bikes come with integrated lights nowadays, but for the darker nights in the city, these lights from Cat Eye provide another 100 lumens of visibility on the front and rear. They’re USB rechargeable as well, so keeping them topped up is easy.

One Less Car? cap - £16

If you want a stylish way to keep the sun (or let’s face it, rain) out of your eyes on your bike then what about this brilliant cap from One Less Car? Kudos if you are actually replacing a car journey with one on a bicycle while you wear it. It’s made from comfortable lightweight fabric that fits most heads and keeps things breathable so you don’t overheat, and it’s available in two colourways.

Tickets to the London Ebike Festival

After a first successful year at Alexandra Palace, the London Ebike Festival is back for 2023. It’s a great way to see what’s trending in the world of e-bikes, as well as test riding some bikes on the purpose made track.

Selle Royal ON E-bike Saddle - £79.99

One of the first e-bike specific saddles, there are three models to choose from depending on the type of riding position you use: athletic, moderate or relaxed. Each model uses Selle Royal’s e-fit design, which is a wave shape to help you find the best seating position on your e-bike and to facilitate pedalling.

A D-Lock - £60

If you ever leave your bike unattended, then a good lock is a must to help prevent theft. There’s plenty of excellent ones out there, but we’ve chosen this Halfords Advanced 23cm D-Lock as it’s got a Diamond Sold Secure rating at a decent price.

Look Geo City Vision Grip Pedals - £129

Designed for the urban rider, these flat Look pedals use Activ Grip by Vibram soyou don’t have to worry about foot slippage in the rain. This version also comes with integrated, USB rechargeable lighting for extra visibility. However, there is a cheaper version that comes without.

Fizik Saddle Bag - £24.99
Made from durable polyurethane-coated polyester, this small saddle bag is perfect for storing all your riding essentials. According to Fizik, it can carry tyre levers, a multitool, an inner tube, and a CO2 cartridge and inflator. It’s easy to attach to your saddle rails and is pretty stealthy.

Altura Grid Parka Waterproof Jacket - £155

Looking for a waterproof cycling jacket that looks good on and off the bike? Look no further than this longer length jacket from Altura. It’s available in both masculine and feminine fits, and keeps your back protected from rain spray while riding. It’s even got some reflective detailing for riding in the dark, and a hood for when it’s raining.

Ortlieb E-Mate Pannier Bag - £125

If you’re a rider that often carries a second e-bike battery with you on longer journeys, then this e-bike specific pannier bag is ideal. It contains a special pocket to carry said spare e-bike battery alongside the 16 litre storage. It’s also waterproof and uses a Quick-Lock2.1 attachment system.
