Eovolt announces 2022 e-bike range

1 Feb 2022

The popular French electric bike brand Eovolt has launched its 2022 range, with just three new bikes featuring. These are the Morning, Afternoon and Evening models. Each bike folds to some degree and is a product of the company's focus to simplify the choice available while increasing the quality of the bikes.

Eovolt also announced that they have brought the majority of their production in-house to their manufacturing facility in Lyon, France. This is in part to improve quality control, but also to reduce reliance on heavily overstretched global supply chains.

The brand said about the changes to production, “For 2022 Eovolt have made giant strides in their quest to further distance ourselves with our own bikes of far superior quality and this will continue year on year.”

Keen to differentiate themselves from brands that use Far Eastern factories, Eovolt is one of the few European based manufacturers of electric bicycles. By taking control of their production, they have been able to improve the builds in a few key areas, namely, hand-polished welding for a seamless appearance on the frames, and new Eovolt made tyres and wheels.

The three models announced today highlight a step to simplify the brand’s range by reducing it from multiple models with different wheel size options to the three core models across different sized wheels.

The smallest wheeled bike is the Morning 16” Folding E-Bike. Inspired by the 2021 model 'City Four' it comes specced with a four-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and folds into a compact space for easy transportation. It promises up to 50km of range and weighs 14kg. It will be available from early April for £1699.99.

The Afternoon 20” Folding E-Bike comes with suspension forks (and lockout), a seven-speed drivetrain and hydraulic disc brakes. You can expect up to 100km of range on one charge of the 504Wh Samsung battery. The Afternoon is available now and costs £2099.99. Move Electric will be reviewing one shortly, so keep your eyes peeled for more information then.

And finally, the Evening 24" Compact Step-Through Semi-Folding E-Bike. By semi-folding they mean the cockpit and pedals fold up to provide easier storage, but it otherwise rides like a more traditionally sized bike. It also features the same battery as the Afternoon, with up to 100km of estimated range. It’s expected to be available from early February, with a price tag of £2099.99. Look out for a review of this model as well in the coming month.

Importantly, Eovolt has not increased their prices from 2021 as many bands have had to, instead they've reduced the MSRP on two equivalent models by £50 and £150. If you're keen on getting your hands on any of the Eovolt range, visit their website or some of the top electric bike retailers including Pure Electric, Wheelbase or JE James.
