British firm unveils new solar-powered EV home charging solution

28 Nov 2022

Simpson and Partners, a British-owned electric vehicle home charging manufacturer, has launched its new Home Series range of EV chargers which offer solar compatibility.

The family-run technology business was launched by Mandy and David Simpson, the original founders of Andersen EV.

The Home Series is made up of three wallbox chargers that the firm says are smaller than a piece of A4 paper and engineered using high-quality materials that are ‘reliable and built to last’.

Three different wallbox chargers are available from 3.6-22kW, with prices starting from £649.

The new Simpson and Partners chargers are compatible with three-phase solar power and can be integrated into the users home energy system. The units are also controllable using a smartphone app, which connects to the charger even if Wifi isn’t available.

The App also allows users to check on the charging level of their car, schedule a charge when energy prices are lowest or link the wallbox charger to solar panels.

All chargers are designed and manufactured at the firm’s 5000sq metre facility in the Cotswolds which opened last summer.

“This is a huge moment for us, to be officially launching Simpson and Partners,” said co-founder, David Simpson.

“Our products have been crafted and manufactured with the best materials available; they will look as good in 10 years as they do the day they’re installed. In addition, the chargers are also solar compatible and sync to agile energy tariffs meaning drivers can use low cost, or even free energy and save money while charging.”
