Evios opens new charge point manufacturing plant

9 Aug 2022

British electric charging firm Evios has opened a new factory in Stewartby, Bedfordshire that will assemble the firm's domestic smart charging points.

Earlier this year Evios launched its new home wallbox charging unit which it claims will be the easiest to install and use, and could be one of the cheapest.

The opening of the new facility coincides with the firm's plans to appoint 60 people from the local area over the next 12 months.

Evios is looking to bring in people for a wide variety of roles, including app developers, production managers, electrical engineers, installations, sales and customer support.

The firm’s new charging point starts from £1195 including installation, or can be available from £33 per month for over three years.

Evios says its charger has the ability to link to off-peak tariffs, and can be set-up to use solar or wind to generate electricity.

The firm’s decision to produce the Evios One electric charger in Bedfordshire supports Evios’s main objective which is to minimise the financial and environmental costs of delivery for UK motorists.

Bedfordshire has launched a ‘Go Electric’ incentive to support more people in switching to electric mobility.  The council is also working on renewable projects in the area, focusing on energy-efficiency improvements.

The Evios One charger is available to reserve now.
