Fancy riding around in a 746kW electric pick-up truck? Well you’re in luck, as specialist car dealer Clive Sutton has brought the first GMC Hummer EV to the UK - and it’s currently up for sale.
The bonkers electric Hummer has been imported by the London-based car dealer, which specialises in offering American models that aren’t available in the UK.
With a mammoth 212kWh battery and a 1000 bhp electric motor, the 4111kg Hummer can achieve a 0-60mph sprint in just 3.3 seconds. And it can still do 350 miles on a single charge.
Hummer has also equipped the new EV with a number of off-road modes, enabling it to perform on rougher terrain. An optional ‘Extract’ mode allows the entire truck to raise around 15cm, while the suspension can be lowered when cruising at motorway speeds.
“As soon as the GMC Hummer EV was announced our customers have been desperate to see the model in the UK,” said Clive Sutton, founder and CEO.
“Now that we have imported the first one, we anticipate orders outstripping supply as buyers clamour to be among the first in Europe to own this electric supertruck.”
Clive Sutton says demand for the Hummer EV is high, with American media reports suggesting that just 12 cars are being built each day. That’s despite General Motors having more than 80,000 Hummer EV’s on order.
This means that huge premiums are being added to the price of Hummer's, with cars retailing for around $200,000 (£176,000). That's almost double the starting price.
Due to shipping costs, VAT duty and registration fees the new Hummer EV won’t come cheap if you want one in the UK, with a starting price of around £320,000.
Clive Sutton is aiming to bring more Hummer's to the UK and is currently accepting customer orders for 2023.
