Swedish electric bike manufacturer Cake has launched a special edition of its rugged Osa AP Bush Bike, which is designed to help raise money and awareness of its ongoing African anti-poaching initiative.
The firm has collaborated with the Southern African Wildlife College to create a new series of Electric Bush Bikes, which are currently being used in Africa to prevent illegal poaching attacks. But versions of the two special bikes that have now been developed in the partnership are also available on general sale.
Cake produced the Kalk AP, an off-road oriented version of the brand’s range-topping model. The silent e-motorbike has allowed rangers to approach poachers undetected with the Southern African Wildlife College stating that the use of the machines has already helped stop illegal attacks on wild animals.

The Osa AP is described by Cake as an ‘off-grid transporter”, and is based on the brand's Osa model. That machine is intended to serve as a “powerful workbench and tow truck on two wheels”.
The special edition bike gains grippier off-road tyres and bespoke syling elements. It also maintains all the features of the regular model, including multiple power outlets that can be used to power tools or other electrical equipment.
The Osa AP is offered with a choice of power options: the Flex version is equivalent to a 50cc moped, while the Osa+ matches the power of a 125cc motorcycle. Both models are street legal in the USA and Europe.
The Swedish firm also says that the Osa AP “optimized to increase efficiency, lower running cost, and bring all equipment needed.”
Prices for the Osa AP start from $8500 (£6290) with the range-topping Osa+ AP costing $10,000 (£7400).
Cake will donate 3 per cent of proceeds from each purchase to the Southern African Wildlife College to help them prevent poaching in Africa.
