Toyota Boshoku will showcase two Mobility as a Service (MaaS) concepts at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which will preview what a future interior for a ride-hailing mobility vehicle could look like.
The firm, which is part of Toyota Group, specialises in the production and development of interior systems and automotive components.
Toyota Boshoku says it has designed its concepts using a new idea known as ‘diversatility’: a combination of the words diversity and versatility.
The first concept, known as MX221, takes the form of a ride-hailing mobility vehicle that features level 4 autonomous driving capabilities and a configurable interior space.
According to the firm, the MX221 is equipped with six advanced systems that can be controlled depending on the passenger’s conditions and needs.
The company will also showcase the MOOX, an interior concept that responds to various service needs and features level 5 automated driving.
The MOOX can be reconfigured depending on its use-case, with interchangeable seats and interior items. It also exhibits a wellness space that estimates the degree of fatigue and stress from a seat inside the vehicle.
Toyota Boshoku’s new concepts will be on display at CES in Las Vegas from Thursday 5 January.
